ఏజెంట్ సాయి శ్రీనివాస్ ఆత్రేయ, మళ్లి రావా వంటి ప్రశంసలు పొందిన చిత్రాలు నిర్మించిన రాహుల్ యాదవ్ ఈసారి ఈ హారర్ చిత్రంతో ముందుకొచ్చారు. దీనికి సాయికిరణ్ దర్శకుడు. 

వేరే పెద్ద సినిమాలేవీ లేకుండా సోలో రిలీజ్ గా ఈ చిత్రం థియేటర్స్ కి రావడం ఒక ప్లస్ పాయింట్. లేకపోతే దీనిమీద ఆడియన్స్ దృష్టి పడడం కొంచెం కష్టమయ్యేది. 

విషయంలోకి వెళితే ఇదొక రొటీన్ హారర్ కథాంశమే. ఒకమ్మాయికి దెయ్యం పట్టడం, దానిని వదిలించడానికి తల్లి పడే తపన, ఆమెకి సాయం చేసే ఒక యువకుడు. ఇదే ప్రధాన కథ. అయితే ఇక్కడ పట్టిన దెయ్యం, విడిపించే వైనం అంతా ఇస్లాం మతానికి సంబంధించి ఉన్నాయి. అదొక్కటీ కాస్త కొత్తదనం అనుకోవచ్చు. 

సినిమా మొదలవడమే ఆసక్తికరంగా ఉంది. పవర్ ఫుల్ బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ తో చాలా ప్రామిసింగ్ గా అనిపిస్తుంది. ఏం జరుగుతోందో తెలియకపోయినా ఏదో జరుగుతోందన్న ఆసక్తిని ఆ తొలి కొన్ని నిమిషాలు కలిగించింది. కానీ క్రమంగా నెరేషన్లో వీక్ పాయింట్స్ బయటపడ్డాయి. 

సినిమా మొదలై 45 నిమిషాలు గడుస్తున్నా కాన్-ఫ్లిక్ట్ పాయింట్ కనపడదు. ఈ సినిమాకి ప్రధానమైన మైనస్ సంభాషణలు. డైలాగ్స్, కౌంటర్స్ పరమ వీక్ గా రాసుకున్నారు. అలాగే ఎడిటింగ్ కూడా సహనపరీక్ష పెట్టింది. ఏకంగా 160 నిమిషాల సినిమా అంటే భరించడం ఎంత కష్టమో వెరే చెప్పక్కర్లేదు. కట్ చేయడానికి పెద్దగా ఏదీ లేదని బుకాయించడానికి కూడా లేదు. సెకండాఫులో డ్రాగ్ ని తగ్గించడానికి పూర్తి స్కోప్ ఉంది. 

ఆ రెండూ మినహాయిస్తే మిగిలిన విషయాల్లో కంప్లైంట్స్ కనపడవు. ఆర్టిస్టులు పెద్ద స్టార్స్ కాకపోయినా ఆయా పాత్రలకి తగ్గట్టుగా అభినయించారు. ఈ సినిమాకి అసలు హీరోలు బ్యాక్ గ్రౌడ్ స్కోర్ మరియు సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ. 

చాలా చోట్ల భయపెట్టే సన్నివేశాలున్నాయి. కొన్ని సీన్స్ ప్రెడిక్టెబుల్ గా ఉన్నా సౌండ్ ఎఫెక్ట్స్ వల్ల హారర్ వర్కౌట్ అయింది. 

కథ పరంగా చూస్తే ఇక్కడ దెయ్యానికి అన్ని సినిమాల్లోలాగ రివెంజ్ డ్రామా ఉండదు. దానివల్ల హుక్ పాయింట్ బలంగా కనపడదు. హీరోకి, బాధిత కుటుంబానికి బంధమేమీ ఉండదు. ఫలితంగా డ్రామా కన్విన్సింగ్ గా అనిపించదు. హారర్ మాత్రం పండింది. 

ఇలాంటి సినిమాల్లో ఎంతో బలంగా ఉండాల్సిన ఇంటర్వల్ బ్యాంగ్ రొటీన్ గా ఉండి తేలిపోయింది. 

సెకండాఫులో ఉత్కంఠ గొలిపే సన్నివేశాలున్నా అవి డ్రాగ్ అయి నిట్టూర్పులు తెప్పిస్తాయి. 

ఇందులో సంగీత సైన్స్ టీచర్ గా కనిపిస్తుంది. హీరోయిన్ గా కావ్య కళ్యాణ్ రామ్ కి కథలో పెద్ద పాత్ర లేదు. హీరో పక్కన ఒక హీరోయిన్ ఉండాలి కాబట్టి ఉన్నట్టుందంతే. ఇంతకీ హీరో తిరువీర్ భయస్థుడి పాత్రలో ఎంతో వినోదాన్ని పంచే స్కోపున్నా స్క్రిప్ట్, డైలాగ్ సహకరించగ పెద్దగా ఏమీ చేయలేకపోయాడు. నిజానికి అప్పుడేప్పుడో వచ్చిన “లింగబాబు లవ్ స్టోరీ” మాదిరిగా హీరో క్యారక్టరైజేషన్ మీద ఒక ట్రాక్ నడిపుండాలిసింది. 

దెయ్యం పట్టే పాత్రలో నటించిన అఖిల మాత్రం బాగా చేసింది. 

బాబాగా సత్యం రాజేష్, రిజ్వాన్ గా శుభలేఖ సుధాకర్ తమ పని తాము చేసారు. 

అక్కడక్కడ భయపెడుతూ, మధ్యమధ్యలో సహనపరీక్ష పెడుతూ…ఓవరాల్ గా పర్వాలేదననిపించే హారర్ చిత్రం ఈ “మసూద”. అయితే తాము తీసిన సినిమా మీద విపరీతమైన నమ్మకమో ఏమో సీక్వెల్ కి లీడ్ ఇవ్వడానికి క్లైమాక్స్ ముగిసాక సుమార్ 5 నిమిషాలు తీసుకున్నారు. అంటే మసూద-పార్ట్ 2 కూడా ఉండవచ్చేమో. తక్కువ బడ్జెట్లో తీసినా కూడా ఈ సినిమాకి ఒక ఫ్రాంచైజ్ వేల్యూ కలిపించాలనుకునే ఆలోచన బాగానే ఉంది. మంచి బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్, సౌండ్ డిజైన్ ఉన్నాయి కనుక భయపడాలనుకుంటే థియేటర్ కి వెళ్ళొచ్చు. ఓటీటీలో అంత భయం కలగకపోవచ్చు.

‘మళ్లీ రావా’, ‘ఏజెంట్ సాయి శ్రీనివాస ఆత్రేయ’ వంటి విజయవంతమైన బ్లాక్‌బస్టర్‌ చిత్రాల తర్వాత స్వధర్మ్ ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్ బ్యానర్‌లో నిర్మాత రాహుల్ యాదవ్ నిర్మించిన మూడో చిత్రం ‘మసూద’. హారర్-డ్రామాగా తెరకెక్కిన ఈ చిత్రం నేడు(నవంబర్‌ 18) విడుదలైంది. మరి ఈ చిత్రం ప్రేక్షకులను ఏ మేరకు మెప్పించిందో చూద్దాం. 

కథేంటంటే..  నీలం(సంగీత) ఓ ప్రైవేట్‌ స్కూల్‌ టీచర్‌. భర్త అబ్దుల్‌(సత్య ప్రకాశ్‌)కు దూరంగా ఉంటూ.. కూతురు నాజియా(బాంధవి శ్రీధర్‌)తో కలిసి ఓ అపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌లో రెంట్‌కు ఉంటుంది. అదే అపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌లో ఉండే గోపీ(తీరువీర్‌) ఓ సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌. తన సహోద్యోగి మినీ(కావ్యా కళ్యాణ్‌ రామ్‌)ని ప్రేమిస్తుంటాడు. కానీ ఆ విషయం ఆమెతో చెప్పడానికి భయపడతాడు. ఒకే అపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌లో ఉండడంతో నీలం ఫ్యామిలీకి క్లోజ్‌ అవుతాడు.  అప్పుడప్పుడు గోపీతో కలిసి నీలం, నాజియా బయటకు వెళ్తుంటారు. అయితే ఓ రోజు నాజియా వింతగా ప్రవర్తిస్తుంటుంది.  అర్థరాత్రి వేళ ఏదోదో మాట్లాడుతుంది. కూతురిని అలా చూసి భయపడిన నీలం.. గోపీని సహాయం అడుగుతుంది. నాజియా ప్రవర్తను చూసిన గోపీ.. ఆమెకు దెయ్యం పట్టిందని గ్రహిస్తాడు. ఆమెను కాపాడేందుకు రకరకాల ప్రయత్నాలు చేస్తారు. చివరకు అల్లా ఉద్దీన్‌(సత్యం రాజేశ్‌) సలహాతో పీర్‌ బాబా(శుభలేఖ సుధాకర్‌)ను కలుస్తారు. ఈ తర్వాత గోపీ, నీలంలకు ఎదురైన సమస్యలు ఏంటి? నాజియా ఆత్మలోకి దెయ్యం ఎలా ప్రవేశించింది? అసలు మసూద ఎవరు? ఆమె నేపథ్యం ఏంటి?  మసూదను మీర్‌ చాచా ఎందుకు చంపాడు? నాజియాను రక్షించడానికి గోపీ చేసిన సాహసం ఏంటి? అనేది తెలియాలంటే థియేటర్స్‌లో ‘మసూద’చూడాల్సిందే. 

ఎలా ఉందంటే.. ఒకప్పుడు టాలీవుడ్‌లో చాలా హారర్‌ మూవీస్‌ వచ్చి, విజయం సాధించాయి. కానీ ఈ మధ్య కాలంలో హారర్‌  అంటే.. కామెడీనే అనేలా  సినిమాలు తెరకెక్కిస్తున్నారు. ప్రేక్షకులను భయపెట్టడం కంటే నవ్వించడమే తమ లక్ష్యం అనేలా హారర్‌ మూవీస్‌ తీస్తున్నారు. కానీ చాలా కాలం తర్వాత ఒక ట్రూ హారర్ డ్రామాగా వచ్చింది ‘మసూద’. ఈ చిత్రం కథ పాతదే అయినా.. కథనం మాత్రం చాలా కొత్తగా, ఢిఫరెంట్‌గా సాగుతుంది. కథంతా ముస్లిం నేపథ్యంలో జరుగుతుంది. ఆత్మలను వదిలించడానికి పీర్‌ బాబాలు వస్తారు. మసీదులో మంత్రాలు చదువుతారు. అందుకే కథనం చాలా కొత్తగా అనిపిస్తుంది. ఎలాంటి సీన్స్‌ పెడితే ప్రేక్షకులు భయపడతారో..అలాంటి వాటిపై దర్శకుడు సాయికిరణ్ మరింత ఫోకస్‌ పెట్టాడు. 

ఫస్టాఫ్‌లో కథ కాస్త నెమ్మదిగా సాగుతుంది. పాత్రల పరిచయానికే దర్శకుడు ఎక్కువ సమయం తీసుకున్నాడు. ఒకవైపు హారర్‌ని చూపిస్తూ.. మరోవైపు గోపీ, మినీల లవ్‌ట్రాక్‌ని నడిపించాడు. దీంతో ఎక్కడో క్లారిటీ మిస్‌ అయిందనే ఫీలింగ్‌ కలుగుతుంది. కానీ ఇంటర్వెల్‌ సీన్‌తో సెకండాఫ్‌పై ఆసక్తిని పెంచేశాడు. అసలు కథంతా సెకండాఫ్‌లో సాగుతుంది. పీర్‌బాబా ఎంటర్‌ అవ్వడంతో కథలో వేగం పెరుగుతుంది. అసలు మసూద ఎవరు? ఆమె నేపథ్యం ఏమై ఉంటుందనే ఆసక్తి ప్రేక్షకుల్లో కలుగుతుంది.

అయితే కథనం సాదాసీదాగా సాగినా.. ఓక్కో సీన్‌ ప్రేక్షకులను దారుణంగా భయపెడుతాయి. మసూద నేపథ్యం గురించి చెప్పే క్రమంలో కొన్ని సీన్స్‌ భయానికి గురి చేస్తాయి. ఇక చివరి అరగంట మాత్రం హారర్‌ అదిరిపోతుంది. ప్రేక్షకుడిని భయపెట్టడమే లక్ష్యంగా కథనం సాగుతుంది. హారర్‌తో పాటు.. తల్లి సెంటిమెంట్‌ని కూడా టచ్‌ చేశాడు దర్శకుడు. కూతురిని గొలుసులతో కట్టేసినప్పుడు.. తల్లిగా సంగీత పడే బాధ, ఏడుపు హృదయాలను హత్తుకుంటుంది.  నిడివి ఎక్కువే అయినా.. హారర్‌ మాత్రం అదిరిపోయింది. 

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే..  ఈ సినిమాకు  సంగీత, తిరువీర్‌, కావ్య, భాందవిల పాత్రలే చాలా కీలకం. గోపీ పాత్రలో తీరువీర్‌ ఒదిగిపోయాడు. హీరోలా కాకుండా నిజంగా పక్కింటి అబ్బాయిలా కనిపిస్తాడు. ఇక సంగీత అయితే మరోసారి తన అనుభవాన్ని తెరపై చూపించింది. నీలం పాత్రకు పూర్తి న్యాయం చేసింది. కొన్ని ఎమోషనల్‌ సీన్స్‌లో కన్నీళ్లు పెట్టించింది. ఇక సినిమాకు మరో ప్రధాన బలం బాంధవి శ్రీదర్‌ పాత్ర. నాజియాగా ఆమె తనదైన నటనతో అందరిని భయపెట్టింది. కథంతా నాజియా పాత్ర చుట్టే తిరుగుతుంది. బాలనటిగా పలు సినిమాల్లో కనిపించిన కావ్యా కళ్యాణ్ రామ్‌.. ఈ చిత్రంలో మిలీ పాత్ర పోషించింది. ఆమె పాత్ర నిడివి చాలా తక్కువ. కానీ తెరపై అందంగా కనిపించింది. పీర్‌బాబా పాత్రలో శుభలేఖ సుధాకర్‌ ఒదిగిపోయాడు. అల్లా ఉద్దీన్‌గా సత్యం రాజేశ్‌తో పాటు మిగిలిన నటీనటులు తమ పాత్రల పరిధిమేర నటించారు. 

ఇక సాంకేతిక విషయానికొస్తే.. ఈ సినిమాకు ప్రధాన బలం ప్రశాంత్ ఆర్.విహారి సంగీతం. ఓ హర్రర్‌ సినిమాకు సౌండ్, విజువల్స్‌ చాలా ముఖ్యం. ఈ మూవీకి ప్రశాంత్‌ ఆర్‌.విహారి అద్భుతమైన నేపథ్య సంగీతాన్ని అందించాడు. నగేష్ బానెల్ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ బాగుంది. ఎడిటర్‌ జెస్విన్ ప్రభు తన కత్తెరకు ఇంకాస్త పనిచెప్పాల్సింది. కొన్ని సీన్స్‌ని మరింత క్రిస్పీగా కట్‌ చేయాల్సింది. స్వధర్మ్ ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్ నిర్మాణ విలువలు సినిమా స్థాయికి తగ్గట్లుగా ఉన్నతంగా ఉన్నాయి.

What’s it about?

In an apartment in Hyderabad, a school teacher Neelam (Sangitha) lives with her teenage daughter Naaziya. Gopi (Tiruveer) who also resides in the same plot bonds with them and helps them regularly.

Gopi a IT employee likes his colleague (Kavya) but has no guts to ask for a date. After many failures, he finally gathers courage and approaches her and she agrees to. While they are getting to know each other in his room, suddenly Neelam comes to his room seeking his help.    Gopi finds that her daughter Naaziya is behaving as if she was possessed. Doctors declare her psychological problem. But Neelam seeks the help of a baba who generally deal with the possessed.

Rizwan (Subhalekha Sudhakar) and his disciple (Satyam Rajesh) arrive to assist them. Rizwan discovers that the girl is being possessed by a ghost. Gopi travels to a village in search of a person connected to Naaziya and discovers the story of Masooda, the ghost who entered Naaziya’s body. What is Masooda’s story, and who is she?

‘Masooda,’ an Urdu word, means fortune or good luck. It is the name of a ghost in “Masooda,” a new horror thriller directed by newcomer Sai Kiran and produced by Rahul Yadav Nakka (of “Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya”). The ghost’s religion makes a significant difference in this generic horror story. The story’s backdrop, a Muslim family in trouble and Muslim babas assisting them, adds some novelty.

‘Masooda’ starts off on an intriguing note, with a fifteen-minute episode of a ghost killing people. The plot then shifts to a single mother and her daughter getting into trouble, with their neighbour Gopi assisting them. By making Gopi the central focus after it is established that the young girl is possessed, the story devolves into a standard horror drama. His character arc becomes predictable. 

Once it is established that the girl is possessed, Gopi, being a good neighbour, comes to help and goes above and beyond to learn about Masooda. Masood’s story turns out to be routine. The final hour drags on and on, with the sequences from the “Exorcist” film.

The second half is filled with blood, violence, and frightening moments, but none of them provide thrills. The ghost story lacks an engaging thread. The technical elements are used to entice audiences rather than with the engaging screenplay. The final hour is completely dull. It not only needs to be trimmed, but it also lacks novelty.

While the new director succeeds in setting the tone and eliciting the best performances from the sound designer, music director, and cinematographer, he falls short in the writing department. Aside from creating standard scenes, the dialogue is also of poor quality. Despite the fact that there are many Muslim characters, their accent is typical ‘Andhra Telugu’. There is no touch of Urdu or Deccani accent.

Tiruveer does what is required. Despite not having a strong characterisation, he does justice to the role. Sangitha is good as a mother who is determined to save her daughter. Other actors do their parts well.

The technicians have done superior job. The cinematographer, the sound designer and the music director deserve special mention and appreciation.

Bottom-line : ‘Masooda’ is a generic horror film about a mother and her friend going to great lengths to help a possessed girl. While certain scenes and the sound design provide a few thrills, the film as a whole suffers from standard writing, an excessive runtime, and a lack of engaging narrative in the final hour.

Masooda Movie Review : A frightening one with mindless violence !

Masooda is one small film that caught everyone’s attention with the teaser and trailer. Masooda is a horror thriller and Sangeetha, Thiruveer, Kavya Kalyanram, Subhalekha Sudhakar and Surabhi Prabhavathi played the lead roles. Sai Kiran Y is making his directorial debut and Rahul Yadav Nakka’s Swadharm Entertainment Pvt. Ltd bankrolled the project. Prashanth R Vihari is the music director for Masooda. The film is heading for a theatrical release today and here is the complete review of Masooda.

Story: A teenage girl Nazia ( Bandhavi Sridhar) lives with her mother Neelam ( Sangitha) and Software engineer Gopi (Thiruveer) is their neighbor in the apartment. Neelam notices a sudden change in Nazia’s behavior and seeks Gopi’s help. They suspect Nazia is being possessed by a demon, consult tantrik babas. Rest of the film is about peeru baba finding the backstory of Masoodabi and how she is related to the protagonists.

Analysis: Masooda film doesn’t take much time to set the audience mood. Introduction scene itself intriguing and gore. The shot making is noticeably different in initial 15 minutes. Once the flashback completes, the story of the movie shifts to Hyderabad. Gopi’s love track is boring and makes the proceedings slow. As the intermission time approaches the screams and suspense levels go up. A short duration first half is pretty normal. The second half is packed with blood, violence and loud screams. The backstory of Masoodabi is spine chilling but overdone. Horror genre appeals more to the audience if the story is engaging. Masooda film offers fear factor but misses on delivering engaging story. The flat narration is another negative aspect, no surprise elements in the film. Director relies on generating fear by loud audio design than the strong script. The second half is very lengthy and overwhelming. Satyam Rajesh and Subhalekha Sudhakar are huge miscasting.

Director Sai Kiran appears over tried in this genre. Nagesh Banell’s Cinematography stands out of all technical departments. Prashanth R Vihari’s music is simple, background score is very good. Production values are excellent.

Performances: Thiruveer and Kavya Kalyanram are the lead roles. Thiruveer is a perfect fit for the role, Kavya is not so. Yesteryear heroine Sangeetha, Bandhavi Sridhar as her daughter Nazia play other two main characters of the film.As a helpless mother and daughter duo they performed well. The supporting cast in the movie includes Subhalekha Sudhakar, Satyam Rajesh, Satya Prakash.

Verdict : ‘Masooda’ is a frightening Horror film with a different backdrop. But it is terribly loud and lengthy. Only the horror genre hardcore audience can give it a try because this film is extremely violent, terribly blood-soaked. The horror characters scream at highest allowed decibels through out the film.

Masooda movie review - a pointless horror-drama.

'Masooda' hit the cinemas today (November 18). It is produced by Rahul Yadav Nakka of Swadharm Entertainment.

Neelam (Sangeetha Krishna) is a single mother to a teen girl named Naziya (Bandhavi Sridhar). All of a sudden, Naziya starts behaving strangely. She is obviously possessed. A petrified Neelam approaches her trusted neighbour Gopi (Thiruveer) for help. Gopi now has to help Neelam handle the existential crisis and do his bit to save Nazriya from being devoured by a greedy ghost. His search for a solution puts him on a path to knowing about an evil woman named Masooda. Meanwhile, a 'baba' (Subhalekha Sudhakar) is also out to save Nazriya.

Back in 1989, two young Muslim men walked into a jungle, only to discover that they were being haunted by a female ghost. A grisly murder and a police investigation follow ten years later. In the present, Gopi and Neelam are cordial neighbours. If the former is a middle-class man working for a company and mooning over his female colleague (Kavya Kalyanram), the latter is a school teacher struggling to make ends meet because her estranged husband (Satya Prakash) exploits her.

As for Nazriya, around whose fate the story revolves, she has been losing interest in her studies. A fatal flaw this film suffers from is that she is given no personality. So, when she suddenly confronts her "superstitious" mother, it looks forced. Gopi's characterization is half-baked. He is too timid to approach his crush and that's the only detail that is clear about him. His unselfishness is explained as the result of Mahatma Gandhi's influence on his personality. It's all so plain.

The film makes references to yesteryear actress Divya Bharathi who died mysteriously, and the notorious serial killer Cyanide Mohan, to create short-lived curiosity. The characters played by Satya Prakash and Satyam Rajesh are there as needless deviations.

The horror elements are absurdly staged. A possessed teen girl shrieking she won't spare anyone doesn't scare anyone in 2022. The sound design alone manages to create some horror. The sound of the balloon spooking Gopi is a case in point. Beyond that, 'Masooda' falls back on outdated tropes. Merely mentioning terms like 'Kshudra puja' means nothing in an era when the idea of horror should have moved to the next level. The loneliness of the characters, the agony of the single mother, and the adventures are supposed to create scares.

The flashback is where the plot seems to gain some momentum in an otherwise snail-paced movie. Several Muslim characters are introduced. The trace of domestic neo-noir drama hasn't been explored at all. Everything is so superficial.

Prashanth R Vihari's music is ordinary. The cinematography and the art direction alone matter in this otherwise generic yawn-inducing drama.

Closing Remarks

'Masooda' is an over-hyped snooze-fest. Good technical quality is its only merit. The horror elements are unmistakably simplistic.

Several small-budget films are getting released in the past few weeks and none of them succeeded to create any impact. A few small movies were released today and only one movie is able to catch everyone’s attention and that is ‘Masooda’. Let’s see what the movie is all about.

Nazia (Bhandhavi Sridhar) a teenage girl lives with her mother Neelam (Sangitha) in an apartment. Their family shares good rapport and bonding with their neighbor Gopi Krishna (Thiruveer), a software employee. When life seems to be going smoothly, a sudden change in Nazia’s behavior worries her mother. Gopi tells that Nazia is possessed by a ghost and needs to be treated immediately.

With Nazia behaving peculiarly, they seek the help of tantriks. The rest of the movie is all about peeru baba finding the backstory of Masoodabi and how she is related to Nazia.

The movie doesn’t take much too much time to set the mood of the audience. The introduction scene itself is intriguing and gore. Once the flashback is finished, the story shifts to Hyderabad. While the movie goes in an interesting way, Gopi’s love track becomes a hurdle and it’s quite boring. The movie frightens just before the interval episode.

The second half is full of violence, bloodshed, and screams. The backstory of Masoodabi is spine-chilling but it’s overboard. The movie offers a fear factor but fails to engage with the story.

Director focused more on creating fear with loud sounds, screams, and gore elements and missed the narration which goes flat.

Munjya Movie Review In Telugu: హారర్ సినిమాలకు ఉండే ఫ్యాన్ బేస్ గురించి తెలిసిందే. ఇక ఈ హారర్ సినిమాలకు కామెడీని యాడ్ చేసి కరెక్ట్ థ్రిల్లింగ్ అండ్ గ్రిప్పింగ్ స్క్రీన్‌ప్లేతో రన్ చేస్తే ఆ మూవీ సూపర్ హిట్టు. అలా రీసెంట్‌గా బాలీవుడ్‌లో బ్లాక్ బస్టర్ హిట్ కొట్టిన హారర్ కామెడీ మూవీనే ముంజ్య.

రూ. 30 కోట్లతో తెరకెక్కిన ముంజ్య సినిమా జూన్ 7న విడుదలై బాక్సాఫీస్ వద్ద ఓవరాల్‌గా రూ. 132 కోట్ల గ్రాస్ కలెక్షన్స్ కొల్లగొట్టింది. శార్వరి వాఘ్, అభయ్ వర్మ, సత్యరాజ్ ప్రధాన పాత్రల్లో ఆదిత్య సర్పోత్‌దార్ దర్శకత్వం వహించిన ఈ సినిమా ఇటీవలే డిస్నీ ప్లస్ హాట్‌స్టార్‌లో సడెన్‌గా ఓటీటీ రిలీజ్ అయింది. మరి ఈ మూవీ ఎలా ఉందో ముంజ్య రివ్యూ లో తెలుసుకుందాం.

70 ఏళ్ల క్రితం కొంకణ్ అనే గ్రామంలో తనకంటే వయసులో పెద్దదైన మున్నిని పెళ్లి చేసుకోవాలనుకుంటాడు గోట్యా. కానీ, ఇంట్లోవాళ్ల వల్ల అది సాధ్యం కాదు. తర్వాత గోట్యాకు ఉపనయనం చేస్తారు. ఆ తర్వాత మున్నిని దక్కించుకునేందుకు కొంకణ్ గ్రామంలోని సముద్రం ఒడ్డు పక్కన ఉన్న చెటుక్‌వాడిలోని శాపగ్రస్త చెట్టు వద్ద తన చెల్లిని నరబలి ఇద్దామనుకుంటాడు. కానీ, అది ప్లాప్ అవుతుంది. అక్కడే గోట్యా మరణిస్తాడు.

చెల్లెలి పెళ్లి కోసం వెళ్లిన బిట్టుకు కొంకణ్‌లో ఏం జరిగింది? అక్కడ తన తండ్రి గురించి బిట్టు ఏం తెలుసుకున్నాడు? బిట్టు వెంట ముంజ్యా అనే పిల్ల దెయ్యం ఎందుకు పడింది? ముంజ్యాకు ఏం కావాలి? ముంజ్యా బారి నుంచి తనను బేలాను బిట్టు కాపాడడా? ఈ క్రమంలో ఎల్విస్ కరీమ్ ప్రభాకర్ ( సత్యరాజ్ ) పాత్ర ఏంటీ? అనే విషయాలు తెలియాలంటే ముంజ్యా చూడాల్సిందే.

సాధారణంగా హారర్ సినిమాలు అన్ని దాదాపుగా ఒకే కాన్సెప్ట్‌తో తెరకెక్కుతుంటాయి. కానీ, వాటి ఎగ్జిగ్యూషన్ మాత్రం డిఫరెంట్‌గా ఉంటుంది. అయితే, ముంజ్యలో అసలు కథ అంతర్లీనంగా పాతదైనట్లు అనిపించినా చూపించిన తీరు మాత్రం చాలా డిఫరెంట్‌గా ఉంటుంది. బ్రహ్మణుల్లో కౌమార దశలో ఉన్న అబ్బాయిలకు ఉపనయనం చేస్తారు. కొంకణ్ ప్రాంతంలో మరాఠీలో ఈ కార్యక్రమం జరిగిన పిల్లలను ముంజ్య అని పిలుస్తారు.

ముంజ్యగా మారిన గోట్యా బ్రహ్మ రాక్షసుడిగా మారే కథ ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్‌గానే ఉంది. ఆ తర్వాత తనకు కావాల్సింది నెరవేర్చుకునేందుకు చేసే పనులు, సీన్స్ మాత్రం రొటీన్‌గా ఉన్నాయి. చాలా వరకు ముందు జరిగే సీన్లను ఊహించవచ్చు. సినిమా మొత్తం ఏం జరుగుతుందనేది ఈజీగా గెస్ చేయొచ్చు. క్లైమాక్స్‌లో మాత్రం ఓ చిన్న ట్విస్ట్ ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. అయితే, సినిమాకు జస్టిన్ వర్గీస్ ఇచ్చిన బీజీఎమ్ అదిరిపోయింది. బీజీఎమ్‌తోనే రెగ్యులర్ సీన్లపై కూడా ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ కలిగేలా చేశారు.

ఆకట్టుకునే విజువల్స్- బీజీఎమ్

గ్రాఫిక్స్ , విజువల్స్, హారర్ మూడ్ వచ్చేలా బాగానే తీర్చిదిద్దారు. అలాగే కామెడీ సీన్స్ పర్వాలేదనిపించాయి. పిల్ల దెయ్యం విజువల్‌గా కొత్తగా ఉంది. అటు భయపట్టేలా ఇటు నవ్వు తెప్పించేలా యూనిక్‌గా డిజైన్ చేశారు. ఎమోషనల్ సీన్స్ పర్వాలేదు. ఓ పాట బాగానే ఉంది. ఇక అభయ్ వర్మ నటన చాలా బాగుంది. లవ్, భయం, ఎమోషన్ చాలా బాగా చూపించాడు.

శార్వరి వాఘ్ పర్వాలేదనిపించింది. గోట్యాగా చేసిన పిల్లాడి నటన బాగుంటుంది. సత్యరాజ్ పాత్ర పర్వాలేదు. కానీ, పెద్దగా ఇంపాక్ట్ క్రియేట్ చేయదు. మోనా సింగ్, సుహాస్ జోషి నటన ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. ఫైనల్‌గా చెప్పాంటే టైమ్‌పాస్ కోసం ఫ్యామిలీతో చూస్తూ ఎంజాయ్ చేయొచ్చు. ఎలాంటి అసభ్యకర సన్నివేశాలు లేవు.
