ప్రపంచంలో అంతరించిపోయిన జంతువుల గురించి తెలుసుకొందాం – Extinct animals in the world

మనం నివసించే భూమి మీద  చాలా రకాలైన జంతువులు నివసిస్తున్నాయి. ఇప్పుడు మీరు చదవబోయే జంతువులూ కిన్ని సంవత్సరాల క్రితమే అంతరించిపోయాయి. వాటిగురించి ఇప్పుడు మనం తెలుసుకుందాం.

1. టాస్మానియాన్ టైగెర్ Tasmanian Tiger

ఇవి మనం నివసించే భూమిపైకి 40 లక్షల సంవత్సరాల క్రితమే వచ్చాయి. దీనికి సంబంధించిన చివరి జంతువు 1933 లో టాస్మానియాలో చివరి సారిగా కనపడింది. ఇది ఒక మాంసాహారపు జంతువు. దీని వీపున  దిగువ భాగంలో నల్లటి చారలు ఉంటాయి. ఇవి ప్రధానంగా ఆస్ట్రేలియా లో ఎక్కువగా కనిపించేవి. ప్రస్తుతం ఇవి ఈ ప్రంపంచంలో ఒక్కటి కూడా లేవు.  దీని సైన్టిఫిక్ నేమ్ తైలాసినస్. ఈ జంతువు యొక్క బరువు 30 కిలోల  వరకు ఉంటుంది.

3. వూలీ మామూత్  Wooly Mamooth

దీని సైన్టిఫిక్ నేమ్ మమ్ముతూస్ ప్రైమీజనిస్ . వీటిని సుమారు 20 లక్షల సంవత్సరాల క్రితం కనుగొన్నారు. ఇది Mamooth జాతికి చెందిన చివరి జంతువు. ఇది చూడటానికి అచ్చం ఏసియన్ ఎలిఫాంట్ లాగే ఉంటుంది. సైబీరియా మరియు అలాస్కాలోని దంతాలను,అస్థిపంజరాలు మరియు అక్కడి గుహ చిత్రాలను ఆధారంగా తీసుకొని వీటి ఆకారాన్ని గుర్తించారు. ఇవి అంతరించిపోయినట్లుగా 1796 లో జార్జ్ కర్వేర్ అనే వ్యక్తి తెలిపాడు.

ఆదిత్య అనే యువకుడు ఒక అడవి గుండా వెళుతున్నాడు. అతను ఒక బావి దగ్గరగా వచ్చే సరికి అతనికి దాహం వేసి కొంచెం నీళ్ళు తాగాలనిపించింది. అయితే అప్పటికే ఎండిపోయిన బావిలో పులి, పాము, మనిషి చిక్కుకుని ఉండడం చూసి ఆశ్చర్యపోయాడు . ఆ మూడు తమని పైకి లాగమని ఆదిత్యని వేడుకున్నారు. ఆదిత్య భయంతో ఆలోచనలో పడ్డాడు అమ్మో !! యిప్పుడు నేను వీటిని కాపాడితే . “పులి నన్ను తినేస్తే? పాము నన్ను కాటేస్తే? అనుకున్నాడు. నన్ను కాపాడితే నీకు ఏ హాని చేయనని పులి హామీ ఇచ్చింది. పాము కూడా మాటిచ్చింది . ముగ్గురికీ సాయం చేసేందుకు ఆదిత్య నిర్ణయించుకొని పొడవాటి తాడును బావి లోపలికి విసిరాడు. ముందుగా పులి బయటకు వచ్చింది. “నాకు సహాయం చేసినందుకు ధన్యవాదాలు మిత్రమా. నీకు మళ్ళీ ఎప్పుడైనా ఈ అడవిలో పని ఉంటే, నా ఇంటికి తప్పకుండా రా . నీ సహాయానికి ప్రతిఫలం ఇస్తానని వాగ్దానం చేస్తున్నాను” అని పులి చెప్పింది. ఆ తర్వాత పాము బయటకు వచ్చింది. “నువ్వు ధైర్యవంతుడైన యువకుడివి. నీకు ఎప్పుడు నా సహాయం అవసరమైనా నేను నీకు అండగా ఉంటానని వాగ్దానం చేస్తున్నాను. నువ్వు చేయవలసిందల్లా నా పేరు నువ్వు పలికితే చాలు” అని పాము చెప్పింది. చివరకు మానవుడు బయటకు వచ్చి . “ధన్యవాదాలు మిత్రమా , నేను ఈ అడవి ప్రక్కనున్న రాజధాని నగరంలో స్వర్ణకారుడిగా పని చేస్తున్నాను. నేను ఎప్పటికీ నీ స్నేహితుడిగా ఉంటానని వాగ్దానం చేస్తున్నాను. నువ్వు ఎప్పుడైనా నగరానికి వస్తే దయచేసి నన్ను సందర్శించు ”అని చెప్పాడు కొత్త స్నేహితులను సంపాదించుకున్నందుకు ఆదిత్య సంతోషిస్తూ తన ప్రయాణాన్ని కొనసాగించాడు.

కొన్ని సంవత్సరాల తరువాత…,

అతను అదే అడవి గుండా వెళుతున్నాడు. ఆదిత్యకి పులి మాట గుర్తొచ్చింది, పులి నివసించే గుహ వద్దకు వెళ్ళాడు. పులి అతన్ని ఆప్యాయంగా పలకరించింది. ఆదిత్యకి పులి అడవి నుండి తాజా పండ్లు మరియు త్రాగడానికి నీరు ఇచ్చింది . ఆదిత్య వెళ్ళబోతుంటే, పులి ఆదిత్యకు విలువైన రత్నాలతో పొదిగిన బంగారు ఆభరణాలను ఇచ్చింది. ఆదిత్య ఆ బహుమతి చూసి చాలా ఆనందించి పులికి కృతజ్ఞతలు చెప్పాడు , కానీ ఆభరణాలను ఏమి చేయాలో ఆదిత్యకు తెలియలేదు . అప్పుడు అతనికి తన స్నేహితుడైన స్వర్ణకారుడు గుర్తొచ్చాడు. వెంటనే ఆదిత్య స్వర్ణకారుడి ఇంటికి వెళ్ళాడు . స్వర్ణకారుడు ఆదిత్యను ఆప్యాయంగా పలకరించాడు. అప్పుడు ఆదిత్య తాను పులిని సందర్శించిన విషయం అది తనకు యిచ్చిన బహుమతి విషయం చెప్పి ,ఆభరణాలు కరిగించి బంగారు నాణేలు చేసి తనకు సహాయం చేయమని స్వర్ణకారుడిని కోరాడు. అప్పుడు ఆ ఆభరణాలు చూసి స్వర్ణకారుడు అవాక్కయ్యాడు. స్వర్ణకారుడు వాటిని రాజు తమ్ముడి కోసం తన చేతులతో తయారు చేశాడు. అదే తమ్ముడు కొన్ని నెలల క్రితం అడవిలో కనిపించకుండా పోయాడు. తన తమ్ముడు గురించి సమాచారం అందించిన వారికి రాజు బహుమానం ప్రకటించారు. కానీ స్వర్ణకారుడుజరిగిన విషయాన్నీ దాచిపెట్టి . “ఈ ఆదిత్య రాజు తమ్ముని చంపాడని నేను రాజుతో చెబితే, మహా రాజు ఖచ్చితంగా నాకు బహుమానం ఇస్తాడు,” అనుకున్నాడు. స్వర్ణకారుడు ఆదిత్యను కొంత సేపు విశ్రాంతి తీసుకోమని చెప్పి రాజభవనానికి చేరుకున్నాడు. రాజుకి తన తమ్ముడిని చంపిన వ్యక్తి దొరికాడని స్వర్ణకారుడు చెప్పాడు. ఆదిత్యను బందించడానికి రాజు స్వర్ణకారుని ఇంటికి సైనికులను పంపాడు. రాజు ఆదిత్య చెప్పడానికి ప్రయత్నించిన మాటలు వినడానికి నిరాకరించాడు మరియు అతన్ని జైలులో పడేశాడు.

ఆదిత్య జైలు గదిలో బాధగా కూర్చున్నప్పుడు, అతనికి పాము యిచ్చిన వాగ్దానం గుర్తుకు వచ్చింది. అప్పుడు ఆదిత్య పాము పేరు పిలిచాడు. కొద్దిసేపటికే పాము జైలులోకి దూసుకువచ్చింది . “నా స్నేహితుడా ఎలా ఉన్నావు?”అని ఆదిత్యని పలకరించింది

ఆదిత్య పాముకి కథ మొత్తం చెప్పాడు.అప్పుడు పాము “బాధపడకు ఆదిత్యా, నా దగ్గర ఒక ఉపాయం ఉంది,అని ” పాము ఆదిత్య చెవుల్లో ఒక పథకం చెప్పింది.

మరుసటి రోజు….

మహా రాణి పాము కాటుకు గురైందని రాజభవనం అంతా వ్యాపించింది. ఆమెకు చికిత్స చేయడానికి రాజ్యంలో అత్యుత్తమ వైద్యులను పిలిచారు. కానీ రాణి మాత్రం అపస్మారక స్థితిలో ఉండిపోయింది. రాణికి వైద్యం అందించిన వారికి రాజు బహుమానం ప్రకటించాడు. రాణిని తాను రక్షించగలనని ఆదిత్య తన చెరసాల బయట ఉన్న సైనికుడికి చెప్పాడు. రాజు వెంటనే అతన్ని పిలిపించాడు. “నేను ఒక్కడినే మహా రాణి గారి గదిలోకి ప్రవేశించాలి,ఆ గదిలో మరెవ్వరూ ఉండకూడదు… అలా కాక పొతే మంత్రం పనిచేయదు .”అని చెప్పాడు ఆదిత్యను తప్ప మరెవరినీ గదిలోకి రానివ్వకూడదని రాజు కాపలాదారులతో కఠినమైన సూచనలను యిచ్చాడు . ఆదిత్య లోపలికి వచ్చేసరికి గది నిశ్శబ్దంగా ఉంది. అతను మరోసారి పాము పేరు నెమ్మదిగా పిలిచాడు . పాము వచ్చి రాణి శరీరం నుండి విషాన్ని బయటకు తీసింది. ఆదిత్య పాము అదృశ్యమయ్యే ముందు దానికి కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపాడు. కొన్ని నిమిషాల తర్వాత, రాణి కళ్ళు తెరిచింది. రాజు ఆనందానికి అవధులు లేకుండా పోయాయి. “యువకుడా, నీకు కావలసిన ప్రతిఫలం కోరవచ్చు.”అని అన్నాడు .

అప్పుడు ఆదిత్య “మహారాజా , నాకు ఏ బహుమతులు అక్కర్లేదు. మీరు నా కథను వినమని మాత్రమే నేను అడుగుతున్నాను. నేను మీ తమ్ముడుకు ఏ హాని చేయలేదు. నన్ను నమ్మమని నేను మిమ్మల్ని బ్రతిమిలాడుతున్నాను “అని అన్నాడు . పులి, స్వర్ణకారుడు మరియు పాము చేసిన మూడు వాగ్దానాలతో సహా ఆదిత్య జరిగినదంతా వివరించాడు. రాజు ఆదిత్య జైలు శిక్షను రద్దు చేసి , స్వర్ణకారుడిని పిలిపించి శిక్ష విధించాడు. ఆ తర్వాత ఆదిత్యకు అతని నిజాయితీకి బంగారు సంచి ఇచ్చాడు.

Moral : నిజాయితీకి ఎప్పుడూ భగవంతుని అండ ఉంటుంది .

ఒక అడవిలో ఒక పెద్ద చెరువు ఉండేది, ఆ చెరువు పక్కన వున్న ఒక పొదలో ముసలి పులి నివసిస్తూ ఉండేది . ఒక రోజు దానికి చాలా ఆకలిగా వుంది కానీ వేటాడే ఓపిక లేదు ,ఆకలి ఎలా తీర్చుకోవాలా అని ఆలోచిస్తూ వుంది అంతలో అటువైపు ఒక బాటసారి వెళుతూ కనిపించాడు అతనిని ఎలాయినా చంపి తినాలనినిర్ణయిన్చుకుంది  పులి .

అతనిని గట్టిగా పిలుస్తూ యిది గో నాదగ్గర ఒక బంగారు కడియం వుంది దీనిని ఎవరైనా పుణ్యాత్ముడుకి యిద్దాం అనుకుంటున్నాను అలాయినా  ఇంతకాలం నేను చేసిన పాపాలకు ప్రాయశ్చిత్తం జరుగుతుందని నా ఆశ ,అని అంటూ తన చేతిలో వున్న బంగారు కడియాన్ని చూపిస్తుంది అతనికి .

బంగారు కడియం చూడగానే అతనికి ఆశ కలుగుతుంది కానీ బంగారం కోసం తన ప్రాణాన్ని ఫణంగా పెట్టలేదుకదా … అప్పుడు అతను పులి తో నేను నువ్వు ఇచ్చే బంగారం కోసం ఆశపడితే నేను నీకు బలి ఐపోతాను అంటాడు . అప్పుడు పులి నేను యిప్పుడు చాలా ముసలి దానను అయిపోయాను నాశరీరం లో ఎటువంటి సత్తువలేదు పైగా నేను పండ్లు కాయలు మాత్రమే ఆహారంగా తీసుకుంటున్నాను ,నేను నిన్ను ఏవిధంగా చంపగలను . నువ్వు ఏమీ  ఆలోచించకుండా ముందు వచ్చి ఈ చెరువులో స్నానం చేసి రా నేను నీకు ఈ బంగారు కడియాన్ని బహుమతి గా ఇస్తాను అంటుంది .

అతనికి పులి మీద నమ్మకం కంటే బంగారం మీద ఆశ ఎక్కువ ఉండడం తో ,స్నానం కోసం చెరువులో దిగుతాడు . చెరువులో ఎక్కువ బురద ఉండడంతో దానిలో ఇరుక్కుపోయి బయటకు రాలేక పోతాడు రక్షించండి…  రక్షించండి….  అని గట్టిగా అరుస్తాడు . అప్పుడు పులి భయపడకు మిత్రమా నేను నిన్ను కాపాడుతాను అని చెప్పి వచ్చి అతనిపై అమాంతం పడి చంపివేస్తుంది ,తన క్షుద్బాధ తీర్చుకుంటుంది .

Moral : అత్యాశ వున్నవారు జీవితం లో చాలా ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొంటారు.

ఒక అడవిలో ఒక జింక ,తాబేలు, ఎలుక, కాకి స్నేహంగా ఉండే వారు .  రోజూ  వారు ఒక చోట సమావేశమై మాట్లాడుకుంటూ ఉండేవారు కానీ ఒకరోజు ఆ సమావేశానికి జింక రాలేదు .  వారు అందరూ జింక కోసం  చాలా సేపు ఎదురు చూశారు ,అప్పుడు తాబేలు కాకి తో అయ్యో జింక ఇప్పటివరకు రాలేదు ఏదైనా ప్రమాదంలో చిక్కుకున్నదేమో దయచేసి ఒకసారి వెళ్లి జింక ఎక్కడుందో చూసి రాగలవా అని అడుగుతుంది. అప్పుడు కాకి చుట్టుపక్కల ప్రాంతం అంతా తిరిగి  వలలో చిక్కుకున్న జింకను చూస్తుంది ,చూసి అయ్యో జింక ప్రమాదంలో ఉంది నేను ఈ విషయాన్ని నా మిత్రులందరికీ తెలియజేయాలి అని చెప్పి తాబేలు ,ఎలుక ఉన్న ప్రదేశానికి వస్తుంది . అప్పుడు జరిగిన విషయం అంతా తన మిత్రులతో చెబుతుంది. ఎలుకను తన కాళ్లతో పట్టుకొని ఎగురుకుంటూ జింక ఉన్న ప్రదేశానికి తీసుకు వెళ్తుంది ,అప్పుడు ఎలుక తన పదునైన పళ్ళతో వలను కొరికి వేస్తుంది. అప్పుడు జింక  ప్రమాదం నుంచి బయట పడుతుంది .

తర్వాత…

అందరూ వేటగాడు వచ్చేలోపు అక్కడి నుంచి వెళ్ళిపోదాం అనుకుంటుండగా పొదలనుంచి  నుంచి నెమ్మదిగా నడుచుకుంటూ తాబేలు వస్తుంది తాబేలు ను చూసి అందరూ అయ్యో వేటగాడు  వచ్చే సమయానికి అందరం ఇక్కడ నుంచి తప్పించుకుందాం  అనుకున్నా కానీ తాబేలు తొందరగా పరిగెత్తలేదు, ఇది వేటగాడికి చిక్కుతుందేమో  అని భయ పడుతూ ఉండగా వేటగాడు వచ్చి వల కొరికి ఉండడం చూసి అయ్యో జింక చేతి నుంచి తప్పించుకుంది అనుకుంటాడు ఇంతలో అక్కడ ఉన్న తాబేలును చూచి ఈ తాబేలు కూడా నాకు ఉపయోగపడుతుంది కదా అని చెప్పి తాబేలు దగ్గరికి వెళ్లి దానిని ఒక సంచిలో వేసుకుని భుజానికి తగిలించుకొని వెళుతూ  ఉంటాడు .

జరిగిన విషయాన్ని గమనిస్తూ ఉన్న స్నేహితులు ఇప్పుడు ఏ విధంగా అయినా మనం తాబేలుని రక్షించుకోవాలి అని వారు నిర్ణయించుకుంటారు తర్వాత ఒక చెరువు దగ్గర జింక చనిపోయినట్లు పడుకొని ఉంటుంది కాకి దాని మొహం మీద కూర్చొని జింక కనులను పొడుస్తున్నట్లుగా నటిస్తుంది , అదే సమయానికి అక్కడికి వచ్చిన వేటగాడు జింక శరీరాన్ని చూసి ఆహా చనిపోయిన జింక నాకు దొరికింది నాకు వేటాడవలసిన  శ్రమ కూడా  లేదు, ఎలాగన్నా దీనిని నేను తీసుకు వెళతాను అనుకొని తన భుజాల వున్న తాబేలుని క్రింద  పెట్టి జింక శరీరం దగ్గరకు వెళతాడు. అదనుకోసం  కోసం ఎదురుచూస్తున్న ఎలుక వెంటనే తాబీలు దగ్గరకు వెళ్లి సంచిని కొరికి వేసి తాబేలు ను రక్షిస్తుది అప్పుడు తాబీలు నెమ్మదిగా చెరువులోకి జారుకుంటుంది . అదే సమయం కోసం ఎదురు చూస్తున్నకాకి  గట్టిగా అరవడంతో కళ్ళుమూసుకుని చనిపోయినట్టు నటిస్తున్న జింక అక్కడి నుంచి పారిపోతుంది , నిరాశ చెందిన వేటగాడు వెనక్కి తిరిగి తాబేలు తీసుకుందాం అనేసరికి తాబేలు కూడా కన పడకపోవడంతో అక్కడనుంచి వెళ్ళి పోతాడు ఆ విధంగా నలుగురు స్నేహితులు ఒకరికొకరు సహాయం గా ఉండి  వారి మిత్రులను కాపాడుకున్నారు.

Moral : స్నేహబంధానికి విలువకట్టలేము .

ఒక అడవిలో ఒక పులి ఉండేది  అది రోజూ  రకరకాల జంతువులను వేటాడుతూ జీవనం సాగించేది . ఒకరోజు అలాగే ఒక జంతువును తింటూ ఉంటే దాని ఎముక ఒకటి పులిగొంతు లో అడ్డంగా ఇరుక్కుంది . దానిని బయటకు తీయడానికి పులి శత విధాలుగా ప్రయత్నించింది కానీ ఎముక బయటకు రాలేదు . అలా చాలా సేపు గడచిన తర్వాత పులి అలసిపోయి నీరసించి పోయింది . ఇంకా ఎవరినన్నా  సహాయం  అడుగుదామని  దగ్గరలో వున్న కొంగ వద్దకు వెళ్లి కొంగ బావ నా గొంతులో ఎముక ఇరుక్కుపోయింది అది నన్ను చాలా ఇబ్బంది పెడుతుంది నువ్వు నీ పొడవైన ముక్కు తో దానిని తీయగలవా అని అడిగింది , కొంగ కు సహాయం చేయాలి అనిపించినా గాని పులి తనను తినేస్తాడని భయపడి పులితో నీ నోటిలో  నా తల ఉంచి నేను బ్రతకగలనా అంది .

అప్పుడు పులి కొంగను వేడుకుంటూ నువ్వు ఈ ఎముకను తీసినట్లైతే నువ్వు నా ప్రాణదాతవు అవుతావు అటువంటి నిన్ను నేను ఎలా చంపగలను నన్ను నమ్ము అంటుంది . అప్పుడు కొంగ పులి పై జాలిపడి పులి నోటిలో  వున్న ఎముకను తీసివేస్తుంది . అప్పుడు పులి కొంగకు కృతజ్ఞతలు చెప్పి ఈ రోజు నుండి నువ్వు నేను మంచి మిత్రులం అంటుంది    అమాయకత్వంతో కొంగ కూడా దాని మాటలు నమ్ముతుంది .

అలా కొన్నాళ్ళు  కొంగ పులి స్నేహం గా ఉండి కలసి ఆహారం తింటాయి . ఒకరోజు పులికి తినడానికి ఏమోదొరకదు అది చాలా ఆకలిగా ఉంటుంది . ఏమి చేద్దాం అని ఆలోచిస్తుండగా దానికి కొంగ కనబడుతుంది , కొంగను చూడగానే పులికి ఆకలి ముందు వారి స్నేహం కనబడదు . అది కొంగతో మరలా గొంతులో ఎముక గుచ్చుకుందని చెపుతుంది , మళ్ళీ కొంగ పులిని అమాయకంగా నమ్మి దాని నోటి లో తల పెట్టి ప్రాణం పోగొట్టుకుంటుంది .

Moral : దుష్టులతో సహవాసం ప్రాణాంతకం .

ఒక రైతు తన ఇంటిలో ముంగిసను పెంచుకుంటూ ఉండేవాడు . ఆ ముంగిస అతనికి చాలా నమ్మకంగా ఉండేది . రైతుకు ఒక చిన్న బిడ్డ ఉండేది . ఒక రోజు రైతు ,రైతు భార్య  పనిమీద బయటకు వెళుతూ ముంగిసను చిన్నబిడ్డకు కాపలాగా ఉంచి వెళ్లారు . అదే సమయం లో ఒక పాము బిడ్డవుండే ఉయ్యాల దగ్గరకు వచ్చేసరికి ముంగిస దాని తో పోరాడి పాము మీద కొరికి పామును చంపివేసి బయటకు వస్తుంది . రైతు తిరిగి వచ్చేసరికి రక్తం తో వున్న ముంగిస నోరు చూసి అది తన బిడ్డను చంపివేసింది అని భావించి రైతు ముంగిసను రాయితో కొట్టి చంపివేస్తాడు .

ఇంటిలోకి వెళ్లి చూసే సరికి ఉయ్యాలలో ఆడుతున్న బిడ్డను చూస్తాడు దాని ప్రక్కన చచ్చిపోయివున్న పామును చూసి ,జరిగిన విషయం అర్థం చేసుకొని తన తప్పుకు తానె పశ్చాత్తాప పడతాడు .

Moral : ఏదయినా నిర్ణయం తీసుకొనే ముందు ఒకటికి రెండుసార్లు ఆలోచించాలి.

నందిగుప్తుడు, సుదర్శనగుప్తుడు అనే ఇద్దరు మిత్రులు ఉండేవారు వారు వేరే రాజ్యాలకు వెళ్ళి వ్యాపారం చేసి బాగా సంపాదించి తిరిగి వారు వారి రాజ్యానికి బయలుదేరారు . మార్గమధ్యంలో నందిగుప్తుడుసుదర్శనగుప్తుడు తో మిత్రమా మనము వేరే చోటకి వెళ్లి ఇంత ఆస్తి సంపాదించాం అంటే అందరూ మనల్ని సహాయం అడుగుతారు ,డబ్బు కావాలని అడుగుతారు పైగా దొంగలు మన వద్ద సొమ్ము దోచుకోవడానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తారు. అందుకే మనము ఈ బంగారాన్ని దాచిపెట్టి ఊర్లోకి వెళ్లి మనము వ్యాపారంలో చాలా నష్టపోయాం అని చెబుతాము అని అంటాడు.

నంది గుప్తుని ఆలోచన సుదర్శనగుప్తు నికి నచ్చుతుంది ఇద్దరూ కలిసి ఉన్న బంగారాన్నంతా రెండు లంకెబిందెలు లో సర్ది దానిని ఒక మర్రిచెట్టు కింద గొయ్యి తవ్వి దాని లోపలి పెట్టి దానిని మట్టితో కప్పివేసి ఇద్దరూ కలిసి వారి రాజ్యానికి ప్రయాణం అవుతారు. నందిగుప్తుడు తాను ఏ విధంగా సుదర్శన గుప్తుడిని మోసం చేయాలనుకున్నాడో ఆ విధంగానే సుదర్శన గుప్తుడు తనను నమ్మాడని నందిగుప్తుడు చాలా ఆనందిస్తాడు .

అదే రోజు రాత్రి…

నందిగుప్తుడు ఎవరికీ తెలియకుండా మర్రిచెట్టు క్రింద కి వెళ్లి అక్కడ ఉన్న లంకె బిందెలు తవ్వి తీసి దానిని రహస్యంగా తన ఇంటికి తెచ్చుకుంటాడు . అలా కొంతకాలం గడిచిన తర్వాత సుదర్శన గుప్తుడు వ్యాపారంలో డబ్బు అవసరమై వారు దాచిన బంగారం కోసం మర్రిచెట్టు దగ్గరికి వెళ్తారు ,కానీ వారికి మర్రిచెట్టు కింద ఎటువంటి లంకె బిందెలు కనబడవు బంగారం ఎక్కడికి పోయిందో తెలియక వారు చుట్టుపక్కల ఉన్న ప్రదేశం అంతా వెతుకుతారు కానీ లంకెబిందెలు ఎక్కడా కనబడవు . అప్పుడు నందిగుప్తుడు సుదర్శనునితో నువ్వు బంగారం అక్కడ దాచావు చెప్పు అని వాగ్వాదానికి దిగుతాడు ,అప్పుడు సుదర్శనుడు నన్ను నమ్ము మిత్రమా మనం ఇక్కడ బిందెలు దాచిపెట్టక మళ్ళీ నేను ఇక్కడకు రాలేదు అంటాడు కానీ నందివర్ధనుడు తన తప్పు బయట పడకూడదని గట్టిగా అడుగుతాడు .

వీరి వాగ్వివాదం చాలా పెద్దది అవుతుంది అప్పుడు సుదర్శనుడు దొంగ అనే ముద్ర భరించలేక , మనము రాజుగారి దగ్గరికి వెళ్లి న్యాయం కోసం అడుగుతాము అప్పుడే మనకు న్యాయం జరుగుతుందని అంటాడు చేసేది లేక మోసం బయట పడకుండా జాగ్రత్త పడదామని రాజుగారి దగ్గరికి తీర్పు కోసం తను కూడా వెళ్తాడు అప్పుడు నందిగుప్తుడు ,సుదర్శనగుప్తుడు జరిగిన విషయం రాజుగారికి వివరిస్తారు.అప్పుడు రాజు గారు మీరు లంకెబిందెలు మట్టిలో దాచినప్పుడు మీతోపాటు ఎవరైనా ఉన్నారా సాక్ష్యంగా మీరు ఏమన్నా తీసుకొని రాగలరా అని రాజు గారు వీరిని అడుగుతాడు . అప్పుడు నందిగుప్తుడు ఉన్నారు మహారాజా మేము బంగారం దాచి పెట్టినప్పుడు అక్కడ ఉన్న మర్రిచెట్టు సాక్ష్యం చెబుతుంది అని చెప్పి మహారాజుతో అంటాడు అప్పుడు సభలో ఉన్న వాళ్లంతా మర్రిచెట్టు మాట్లాడమేంటి అంటారు అప్పుడు నందిగుప్తుడు నిజాయితీ గల వాడు తలచుకుంటే ఏమన్నా అవుతుంది మర్రిచెట్టు కూడా మాట్లాడుతుంది అంటాడు . అప్పుడు మహారాజు సరే రేపు ఉదయం మనమందరం వెళ్లి మరి చెట్టు దగ్గరికి వెళ్లి అసలు జరిగిన విషయం ఏమిటో మనం తెలుసుకుందాం అని మహారాజు గారు చెప్తారు.

ఆ రోజు రాత్రి

నందిగుప్తుడు ఇంటికి వెళ్లి తన తండ్రితో జరిగిన విషయమంతా చెప్పాడు ,తండ్రి నువ్వు సుదర్శనుడిని మోసం చేస్తున్నావు మోసం చేయడం వల్ల నీకే నష్టం జరుగుతుంది అని తనని గద్దిస్తాడు , అప్పుడు నందిగుప్తుడు నువ్వు నేను ఎటువంటి పనిచేసినా ఎప్పుడూ నాకు సహకరించలేదు నన్ను మెచ్చు కోలేదు ఈ సారి మాత్రం నువ్వు నాకు సహాయం చేయాలి అని తండ్రి వేడుకుంటాడు, తండ్రి నేను మీకు ఏ విధంగా సహాయం చేయగలను అని అడుగుతాడు అప్పుడు నందిగుప్తుడు తండ్రి తోటి నువ్వు వెళ్లి మర్రిచెట్టు తొర్రలో దాక్కో రేపు ఉదయం మహారాజుగారు వచ్చే సమయానికి నాకు అనుకూలంగా సమాధానం చెప్పు అంటాడు అందుకు నందిగుప్తును తండ్రి అంగీకరించడు అయినప్పటికీ నందిగుప్తుడు తండ్రిని భుజాన వేసుకుని బలవంతంగా చిన్న మర్రిచెట్టు తొర్రలో వుందుతాడు , తన చుట్టూ చీమలు పురుగులు ఉన్నప్పటికీ తన ఏమీ పట్టించుకోకుండా తండ్రిని ఎవరికీ కనబడను లోపలికి తోసి వేస్తాడు .

ఉదయం అయిన తర్వాత

మహారాజుగారు సుదర్శణగుప్తుణ్ణి ,నందిగుప్తుడు మిగిలిన సైనికులు ని తీసుకొని మర్రి చెట్టు వద్దకు వస్తారు. నందిగుప్తుడు మరి చెట్టు వద్దకు వచ్చి మర్రిచెట్టుకు జరిగిన విషయమంతా వివరిస్తాడు, మర్రిచెట్టు…. ఈ బంగారాన్ని ఎవరు తీసుకున్నారు అని అడుగుతాడు మరి చెట్టు నుంచి ఎటువంటి సమాధానం రాదు, మరి కొంచెం గొంతు పెంచి మర్రిచెట్టు… ఈ బంగారాన్నంతా ఎవరో తీసుకున్నారు నువ్వు సమాధానం చెప్పకపోతే నేను ఊరుకోను అని గట్టిగా అంటాడు . అప్పుడు . మరి చెట్టు నుంచి నందిగుప్తును తండ్రి “సుదర్శణగుప్తుడు ఈ బంగారం మొత్తం తీసుకున్నాడు” అని నెమ్మదిగా చెప్తాడు మర్రిచెట్టు మాట్లాడడం విని అందరూ ఆశ్చర్యపోతారు కానీ సుదర్శణగుప్తుడు దీనిలో ఏదో రహస్యం దాగి ఉంది మీరు అనుమతిస్తే నేను ఆ రహస్యాన్ని ఛేదిస్తాను అని రాజుగారితో అంటాడు .

సుదర్శణగుప్తుడు మర్రిచెట్టు ఎక్కి కొమ్మ కొమ్మ వెతుకుతాడు కానీ తనకు ఎటువంటి ఆధారం దొరకదు . చెట్టు లో ఒక తొర్ర కనిపిస్తుంది కానీ దాని చుట్టూ చుట్టూ చీమలు ఉండడంవల్ల లోపల ఎవరూ ఉండరు అనుకుంటాడు కానీ ఎందుకన్న మంచిది అని ఒకసారి దాని లో అని తన చెయ్యి పెడతాడు అప్పుడు సుదర్శనుడు కి ఒక మనిషి శరీరం తగులుతుంది అప్పుడు సుదర్శనుడు గట్టిగా మహారాజా దీనిలో ఎవరూ వున్నారు అని చెపుతాడు . అప్పుడు సైనికులు అందరూ వచ్చి తొర్రలో ఉన్న నన్దిగుప్తుని తండ్రి ని బయటికి బలవంతంగా లాగుతారు చిన్న తొర్రలో తనని తోయడం వలన అక్కడవున్న చీమలు పురుగులు కుట్టడం వలన అతను సగం చచ్చిపోతాడు తర్వాత ఒకేసారి రాజుగారు ముందు నిలబెట్టే సరికి అవమానంతో పూర్తిగా చనిపోతాడు. తండ్రి శవం మీద పడి నందిగుప్తుడు ఏడుస్తూ ఉంటాడు అప్పుడు మహారాజుగారు నందిగుప్తుడు అన్యాయంగా తన తండ్రినిచమపినందుకు సుదర్శనగవుతుని పై నింద వేసినందుకు నందిగుప్తునికి ఉరిశిక్ష వేస్తాడు . రెండు లంకె బిందెల బంగారాన్ని సుదర్శనుడుకి ఇచ్చేస్తాడు.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The FBI has failed to report some child sexual abuse allegations to local law enforcement or social service agencies even after changes prompted by its handling of the case against former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar , according to a Justice Department watchdog report released Thursday.

In a review brought on by the FBI’s failures to promptly investigate Nassar, the inspector general found serious problems persist that run the risk of child sexual abuse allegations falling through the cracks as overworked agents juggle dozens of cases at a time. In one case, a victim was abused for 15 months after the FBI first received a tip about a registered sex offender, the report said.

“This report makes clear that the FBI is simply not doing its job when it comes to protecting our children from the monsters among us who stalk them,” said John Manly, a lawyer who represents victims of Nassar. “Despite years of promises and numerous congressional hearings it’s now clear that the Larry Nassar scandal could happen again today.”

A senior FBI official acknowledged that the bureau has made mistakes in investigating crimes against children but said the “vast majority of work” has been handled appropriately.

“Ensuring the safety and security of children is not just a priority for the FBI; it is a solemn duty that we are committed to fulfilling with the highest standards. The FBI’s efforts combating crimes against children are among the most critical and demanding undertakings we do,” the FBI said in a statement.

The inquiry follows a scathing 2021 report that found that FBI’s failure to take action against Nassar allowed the doctor to continue to prey on victims for months before his 2016 arrest. The FBI put in place many changes, but the inspector general says more are needed to protect children.

In a review of more than 300 cases between 2021 and 2023, the inspector general flagged 42 cases for the FBI that required “immediate attention” because there was no evidence of recent investigative steps taken or because of other concerns, according to the report.

The inspector general found no evidence that the FBI followed rules requiring allegations to be reported to local law enforcement in about 50 percent of the cases. When the FBI did report an allegation to law enforcement or social service agencies, it followed FBI policy to report it within 24 hours in only 43 percent of the cases, according to the report.

The FBI accepted all of the findings and recommendations of the report. Among the changes the FBI is committed to is the development of a training program for investigators and supervisors focused not only on investigative techniques but also on the bureau’s own policies and procedures.

Most of the incidents that the inspector general flagged to the bureau “reflected the failure to properly document completed investigative steps or involved investigations where no additional action was necessary,” Michael Nordwall, FBI executive assistant director, wrote in a letter included with the report.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin said the panel will hold a hearing on the FBI’s mishandling of child sexual abuse allegations later this year.

“The FBI’s failures enabling Larry Nassar’s abuse of young victims continue to remain a stain on the Bureau,” the Democrat from Illinois said.

Even while acknowledging errors, the FBI cited the “overwhelming” burden on agents tasked with investigating crimes against children given the conduct involved, an influx in tips flooding in to law enforcement, increased use of encrypted technology to conceal the offenses and budget cuts.

Citing one agent who was juggling about 60 investigations, the inspector general said special agents “must constantly triage their caseload.” The inspector general said the FBI needs to comes up with a plan to tackle the growing number of cases to ensure that agents are able to manage the cases on their plate.

The report released in 2021 faulted the FBI for failing to treat Nassar’s case with the “utmost seriousness and urgency,” and then making numerous errors and violating policies when it did finally swing into action. Nassar pleaded guilty in 2017 to sexually assaulting gymnasts and other athletes with his hands under the guise of medical treatment for hip and leg injuries.

The FBI has described the actions of the officials involved in the Nassar investigation as “inexcusable and a discredit” to the organization. In April, the Justice Department announced a $138.7 million settlement with more than 100 people who accused the FBI of grossly mishandling the allegations against Nassar.

In Hong Kong, the authorities advise the young man to continue studying or to seek a diversion, including badminton, to avoid premarital sex and other “intimate behaviors.”

Critics, including lawmakers and sex educators, say that the Chinese territory’s new sex education materials are regressive. But top officials are not backing down, and the standoff is getting kind of awkward.

“Is badminton the Hong Kong answer to sexual impulses in schoolchildren?” the South China Morning Post newspaper asked in a headline over the weekend.

Hong Kong teenagers find it all pretty amusing. A few said on social media that the officials behind the policy have their “heads in the clouds.” Others have worked it into sexual slang, talking about “friends with badminton” instead of “friends with benefits.”

The sex ed materials were published last week by the Education Bureau in a 70-page document that includes worksheets for adolescents and guidance for their teachers. The document emphasizes that the lessons are not designed to encourage students to “start dating or having sexual behaviors early in life.” It also advises people in a “love relationship” to fill out a form setting the limits of their intimacy.
