Games immune us physically as well as mentally. Games are important for us because they give us the fitness to stay healthy. If we are physically fit then automatically our brain will function better. I have never received any open playground in my childhood.

So I have grown up playing different indoor games with my parents and siblings. My favourite indoor game is chess. I love to play chess, especially with my father who has taught me all the rules and regulations of that game. The best thing about this game is the use of the brain. Even the easiest step can do checkmate. I have often lost to my father but still, I love to play it again and learn it always.

Playing outdoors under the open sky is great fun and happiness. It means freedom from studies and the tensions in our lives. Every evening playing outside with my friends gives me lots of pleasure and joy. The best game that I like to play is ‘Hide and seek’.

Many people can play together and so it’s my favourite outdoor game. With many friends, it is great fun to hide in different places and make one search for all of us. Hide and seek involves lots of physical exercises and that enables us to stay fit, even without our knowledge. Also, that search is exciting. The sudden finding of one friend and often using that friend to get others to involve lots of mischiefs. The laughter at the end is worth the most to me.

Today due to the lack of any playground we hardly get a chance to play this game. However, it is still an important part of our memory. As we have grown up over the past years, we have realized how important the simple game was. Today we have smartphones and video games but then only this innocent play every evening meant a lot to us. Also running back home all happy and fresh in mind helped us to concentrate better on our studies. Hide and seek still remains to be more fun for me than just any other outdoor game.

Games are an essential part of human life. It is very important to play games as it helps us to remain healthy and fit, both physically and mentally. All sorts of diseases and pains can be reduced if we regularly play games.

Indoor games help us to immune our brains while outdoor games are important to build our own strong immunity and body. From my early childhood, I have loved to play games, especially outdoor games. My parents have always encouraged me to play games to keep a healthy and fit body. The game that I have played the most and also have seen the most is cricket. It is not only my favourite game but also the ideal one for me.

Cricket is generally a game played by men, but nowadays women equally engage in playing cricket. My inspirations in this game are Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Jhulan Goswami, and also M.S. Dhoni. I have watched them play several matches and every time I have been inspired to play like them. My father taught me the basics of cricket and later on, I was admitted to a club. From there every morning I go and practice cricket.

Cricket involves lots of exercise and practice. This game originated mainly in England as a colonial sport and later on spread over several countries. It happened when Britain started colonizing all over the world and the game spread all over as part of their culture. But today it is almost a native sport for the country as well. When I play cricket it does not seem that it was once used by a different country, but now it feels like it is my own.

Cricket is played with a bat, ball, wicket, stumps, and a proper pitch for a smooth throw of the ball. The team contains 11 players and all need to be equally efficient to be a part of the cricket team. The best part of playing cricket is teamwork. I love to see the captain planning everything and then adjusting it with his or her team.

This constant equation between the team member is my favourite part of the game. Cricket has taught me lots of things. It has only made me physically fit. Cricket has taught me how to collaborate and work as a team. It has successfully built the team. It is always a great company to me than any simple outdoor game.

My favourite game is Chess. It is a two-player game played on a black-and-white board. This ancient game teaches me the art of winning and losing. The chess board is divided into 64 smaller squares and includes 16 pieces for each player. These pieces are one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns.
I love playing chess in the evening with my cousin. He is smarter than me and I always struggle to defeat him. But that’s the magic of this game. In chess, every move is made with the intent of cornering the opponent. My favourite chess grandmaster is R. Praggnanandhaa. This Indian teenager recently defeated World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen. I love chess because it is a game of strategy and skill. It makes me think carefully about my moves and plans.
I want to play my favourite game every day and during my free time. I believe we all should play chess, not just for fun but to develop important skills.

My favourite game is football. It is an outdoor game played between two teams. In a professional football match, there are 11 players in each. I like playing football because it helps me stay fit and athletic. In some places, it is also known as ‘Soccer’. My friends and I play football each day in the nearby park.
I don’t exactly remember the first time I played football, but my school coach always encouraged me to play it. Playing football is exciting and fast-paced. The best part about football is teamwork and strategy. Chasing the ball for 45 minutes straight helps me stay active and healthy. I want to become a good football player when I grow up. So, to hone my skills, I want to play this beautiful game each day.

Without spending time in different sports and physical activities, we cannot dream of our overall development. Sports help develop our minds and body and keep us healthy from the inside out. Most schools dedicate a specific time or period during the week for sports, and they consist of some of the most popular games.

My school allows us to play the games that we love, and we have different games and sporty activities throughout the weeks. Aside from playing at my school, I also love to play at home after I return from school. When I am with my friends, I love to play my favourite game which is Cricket. Afternoon cricket matches are quite fun; my friends and I have a great time playing cricket.

In Cricket, two teams compete against each other. Each team has 11 players, and they can also keep substitute players in case someone gets injured or tired. Before the match starts, the captains of each of the teams take part in a toss. The winner of the toss gets to decide if they are going to bat or bowl first.

Two batsmen play against the 11 members of the opposite team who bowl and field. The batsman score runs by hitting the balls thrown at them. They can take a single run by run or hit a boundary of four runs or an over boundary of six runs.

The cricket field has a 22-yard long pitch, and all the events happening on the field are overseen and decided by the umpire of the match.

My Favourite Game Cricket

I love to play football, badminton, chess, carrom, and kho-kho. But my favourite game is cricket. Playing games indeed has a good influence on our health. But, some people take their passion for sports to the level of building a profession. My love for cricket grew with my father. I remember him watching cricket almost every day.

As I was more into cricket, I started to admire Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, M.S. Dhoni, Chris Gayle and many other international cricketers. I took their inspiration and started playing cricket with my neighbourhood friends. Since I was really small and people of different ages used to play with us, they only let me field.

I was not too good at the start, but as I grew up, I got better at playing cricket. I was better at bowling than batting. Sometimes we would have small cricket matches with the children from the colony nearby. We agreed upon the prize money that the losing team had to give to the winning team. Most of the time, we used to lose, but every match was worth playing. We had a fun time playing the game.

In conclusion, Cricket gives me a sense of relating to something global or bigger than myself. It is also a great sporting activity to keep my body fit. I prefer playing outdoor games to playing mobile or computer games. These games help us build our stamina and keep our minds and body healthy through physical activities.

I cannot think of another sport as dear as football.

I enjoy playing all sorts of games – both indoors as well as outdoors. Among the indoor games, I enjoy playing carrom and chess. I also enjoy playing badminton and table tennis with my friends and cousins. But the game I like the most is cricket. I not only enjoy playing this game, but also love watching it. It is my favourite game. We play cricket in our school also. I am in our school team and I really enjoy playing for our school. I open innings for our school team.

I like all aspects of the game – batting, fielding and bowling. I especially like taking catches and diving to stop the boundaries during fielding. I bowl sometimes. But, it is batting that I enjoy the most. I am also the vice-captain of the school team. In the last inter school tournament, our school grabbed the trophy and I had contributed 58 runs to my team’s score.

Our coach too is very hardworking. We practise every day from 6 am to 8 am in the morning and 4 pm to 5 pm in the evening. At first we do the warm up by taking a few rounds of our ground, then we do a few stretching and fitness exercises. Then, we practise as per our turns – fielding, batting or bowling.

I also enjoy watching the game whenever there is a live telecast on Television. India is of course my favourite team but I also like watching the Australian and the Sri Lankan teams. I, therefore enjoy watching any match of the Indian team and if the other team is also one of my favourites, it is like an icing on the cake.

A few years back, I got a chance to watch a live cricket match at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium between India and Sri Lanka. It was a thrilling experience. I enjoyed the match especially, the great performances of Captain Dravid, Sehwag, Tendulkar, Dhoni, Kaif and Kumble. Sachin Tendulkar is my favourite batsman.

Dhoni too has won the hearts of many people including mine. It was a great joy to watch my favourite teams pitch against each other. When India won the match our joy was doubled and we felt our watching the Match was even more rewarded. I wish I could get more chances of such kind to watch live matches.

Looking at the exalted and content faces of these players of the Indian team, I too felt overwhelmed. I too have decided to feel the essence of that uniform of the National Cricket Team by taking the passion of my favourite game to the next level. I was highly amazed by the idea of bringing glory to the country after each such victory.

That is why I too have decided that I will work hard and make my passion my career to serve the motherland like Sachin Tendulkar, Vishwanathan Anand or Abhinav Bindra.

My favourite game is tennis. It is the game I like the best from my childhood. I prefer tennis to any other game because it is not risky as hockey, football or cricket. Games play a significant role in life. They keep us physically fit and sound. In the modern times, they provide a relief from the boredom and tedium of the daily humdrum of life. The game that I enjoy playing and watching the most is cricket. This game is one of the few positive things the English colonizers brought to India. Since then, cricket has become a part of the Indian culture. It is nowhere to stay and entertain the people. Whenever there is a cricket match, several Indian families assemble in front of the television and sit glued to it till it finishes. They continue to sit there even after the finish to discuss the performances of different players, to criticize their moves, or to celebrate their victory by merry-making. Thus, Indians have imbibed this game into their lives and have given it an indigenous colour. The cricketers of our Indian team are adored more than the Bollywood actors and actresses. They are the youth icons, the star attraction. Probably some of them are the richest of the Indians. Today half of the advertisements that we watch on the television have our cricketers in them to endorse the goods.

It is similar to baseball with the objective of the game being to score the most runs in order to win. Of all of the games I play, football is my favour. To start with, let me first tell you, where football can be played best. You need a large patch of level ground, where the players can run freely. How it is played: The game is played between two teams. Each team has eleven players. There are two goalposts at both ends of the field. The referee conducts the game. His decision is final.

A ball is played at the center of the field. The field is 120 yards long and 80 yards wide. During the play, no player can touch the ball with hand. Only the goalkeeper can touch it with his hands. The players of each team try to send the ball into the net through the goalpost of their opponent party. When one party can pass the ball through the goalpost of the other party, a goal is scored. The team that scores more goals wins the game.

There is a break of ten or fifteen minutes in the middle. At the end of the first half, the two teams changed their sites. You will notice that in most of the industrialized countries, football is the favorite game of the people, not cricket. Because they don’t have much time to waste.

In football, a referee is on the field as a director and judge. Two linemen helped him manage the game smoothly. If a player breaks the rules, the referee may warn him with a yellow card and expel him with a red card. In this way, discipline is maintained in the game. The team that can score more goals wins.

Football is played on a large field. There are two goal posts in each of the two opposite ends of the field. A bar is tied on the goalposts which is eight feet above the ground. The field is marked by a demarcation line on four sides. There are also two center and penalty boxes.

Football is my favorite game. It has some notable features. It is not as costly as cricket. It gives me much delight. It is an exciting game. It thrills both the players and the spectators.

Football is an outdoor game. It requires a big field. It is 110 to 1200 yards long and 70 to 80 yards wide. The game is played between two teams. Each team has eleven players. Of them, one is goalkeeper, two full-backs, three halfbacks, and five forwards. There is a referee to conduct the game.

At the beginning of the game, the ball is placed in the center of the field. The referee whistles and the game starts. Both teams then try to pass the ball through their opponent’s goal post. But players other than the goalkeeper cannot touch the ball with their hands. The whole game usually lasts ninety minutes. There is a break of ten to fifteen minutes in the middle.
